A Change of Approach

planning

With the changing of the seasons, it may be time to change your approach.

We all have goals, right? Big, broad, vague, at-some-point type goals. Why not take a few minutes, grab a notebook and a cup of coffee, and write down solid, attainable, circle-the-date-on -the-calendar goals. Claim these targets and benchmarks for yourself.

September is the start of fall, the start of the busy season for so many of us, the beginning of indulgent holidays and to do lists, and it is all too easy to put ourselves on the back burner until the New Year and its Resolutions rolls around. Let's change it up this year.

Be specific and attainable with this planning session; you should be able to check things off your list. Instead of "Break through plateau," why not, "Try a new boxing class in September." Instead of, "Lose 10 pounds by Thanksgiving," try, "Register for the Turkey Trot; Spend two hours meal-prepping and planning on Sundays; Join a bootcamp; Try three new hikes by Halloween." When your goals are targeted and specific, they are attainable; they become stepping stones to your big, broad, goals. They become the habits that will become a new lifestyle.

Happy fall, y'all!
